THE SWITCH DRAWER

What’s your type?

WELCOME TO THE BENCH

Listen with your fingers.

Make some noise
Click or tap any keycap, or use your real keyboard. Hold a key to keep it down. Key-up has its own sound. Browser and system shortcuts stay yours.
Swap the switch
Pick from the drawer or use the switch selector. “Hear this switch” plays A, S, then the spacebar without changing your test.
Find your rhythm
Choose Typing test, a duration and a passage. The first character starts the clock. Correct mistakes with Backspace. Changing a passage or duration starts a fresh test.
Read the numbers
WPM is correct characters currently in the text ÷ 5 ÷ elapsed minutes. Accuracy counts every attempted character, including corrected mistakes. The rhythm map shows intervals before correct keys, not force or hold time.
On a phone
Swipe the keyboard sideways to reach every full-size key. Use the typing field for your phone’s keyboard, or tap the board to type.
